Killing's a Game

She shot the gun at a passerby
Her mother laughed from the bench nearby
The gun was orange and had water for bullets
But the girl was four and applauded for doing it

How far have we come from the caves of our past
From sticks, stones and fire, nailing colours to the mast
Fighting violence with violence and shame with shame
And teaching our children that killing's a game
