Butterflies of Hope

We coloured in some butterflies in Summer Club to send as part of the
Amnesty International campaign
as messages of hope for the girls and women of Nicaragua.

'The butterfly (la mariposa) for us is a symbol of the desire to realise our dreams, spread our wings... fighting with the strength of our rights.'

When 1 syllable becomes 2...

My name is Roz. The word 'Roz' has 1 syllable.

Except when someone wants me for something at club. "Ro-oz?"

Or when someone is having a moan. "Ro-oz..."

Or when, like yesterday, someone (aka Georgi) is excitedly calling out to me from the window of a moving car. "Ro-oz!"

Or when, like today, someone scared calls out for help on the low ropes course at Hainault Country Park. "Ro-oz!!!!!!"

A lot can be said in that extra syllable...

(It's interesting because my sign language name has 2 syllables also - roz = red+hair )

It had rained all day and then the sky cleared as we made our way over Tower Bridge...

...to go to see Around the World in 80 Days at the open air theatre: The Scoop.

On the way back we had to wait for the bridge!

 We visited two exhibitions today at the Whitechapel Art Gallery...

...and had a quick bite to eat and went climbing at Mile End Climbing Wall

Getting the D6, chatting, donning buoyancy aids, practising paddle strokes, carrying the kayaks, putting them on the water, nerves, getting in from the side of the canal, paddling, tears, getting caught in the reeds, laughter,  canal boats going by, raftingup, chatting, getting to the Joker sign on the bridge, smiles, playing tag, splashes, getting out of the kayaks, putting the boats away, getting the D6 home and more chatting, laughter and smiles
